Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry County "Benefit Bike Ride" - September 20, 2009
Momentum employees are encouraged to participate in the Domestic Violence Services of Perry and Cumberland County's "Benefit Bike Ride" in Carlisle, PA. To raise awareness, they have designed a bike jersey identifying their cause. The jersey will be given to riders who have raised $200 or more. NOVA Corporation 2nd Annual 5K Race for the Nation - August 15, 2009
Momentum is serving as a race DJ sponsor for the NOVA Corporation 2nd Annual 5K Race for the Nation. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the local Youth League Football teams and to the Southwest Indian Foundation's Housing Program. Momentum employees are encouraged to bring in household items that will be donated to the Domestic Violence Services shelter. Because the shelter is provided at no cost to their clients, they rely on the generosity of the community to operate on a daily basis. Employees interested in donating can bring their items to the Kitchen Shoppe.

Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties "Randi's Race" - May 9, 2009
Momentum is serving as a silver sponsor for Randi's Race, a run/walk to raise money for domestic violence awareness in honor of Randi Trimble. Since its inception in 2005, Randi's mother, Nancy, has raised over $106,000. These funds have been significant in providing a 24-hour toll free hotline, emergency shelter, legal advocacy and counseling for individuals experiencing domestic violence. 19th Annual Adult Area-M Special Olympics - April 25, 2009
Momentum employees are invited to volunteer for the Naval Support Activity's largest event that brings together athletes, families and volunteers from all across the mid-state. Special Olympians, ages 19 and up, will be competing in track and field events as well as in basketball, soccer, softball, swimming and bowling. Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day® - April 23, 2009
Momentum will observe "Take Your Child to Work Day" for the second year. The children will be participating in several hands on activities that emphasized goal setting and career ideas. In conjunction with our volunteer program, the children will travel to a local non-profit organization to beautify the landscape by planning flowers.

Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland & Perry Counties Reindeer Food fundraiser - December 13, 2008 - 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Wal-Mart (Mechanicsburg) and Wal-Mart (Carlisle)
DVSCPC will be selling Reindeer Food (small bags of bird seed) as a fundraiser. They are looking for volunteer helpers to help man the tables (tables are outside the store by the bell ringers). Team Day Volunteer Efforts - Veteran's Day - November 11, 2008
We will be participating in some timely volunteering initiatives at the Fall 2008 Momentum Team Day, including writing hand-written letters to veterans and helping to prepare new pillowcases for men currently serving in our armed forces. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Dress for Success Purse Drive #2 - April 1, 2008
Momentum is kicking off its second purse drive for Dress for Success South Central PA in conjunction with their annual suit drive. Momentum hopes to collect 100 new designer purses from local business colleagues. The purses will be on display at the Dress for Success Fall Fashion Show and will later be given out to DFS clients during suitings. The drive will last throughout April and May.

Dress for Success Purse Drive Culminates January 2008
Momentum’s purse drive for Dress for Success South Central PA culminated at Dress for Success’ Celebrate Success Annual Breakfast on January 23, 2008. Momentum’s purses were the table centerpieces and were on display throughout the room. Kristina Burlew, marketing specialist for Momentum spoke to the attendees about Momentum’s Corporate Guild participation and the grassroots purse drive and officially handed the purses over to the organization. ABC-27 News was on hand and featured the event and Momentum’s purse drive. This is the second time in the past month Momentum has been designated as an ABC-27 Hometown Hero. Many thanks to everyone who participated in this project!
Central Pennsylvania Food Bank Food Drives - November & December, 2007
Momentum conducted a non-perishable food drive at its last two corporate events and collected a combined total of 368 pounds of food! According to the group's thank you letter, Momentum's donation will help these neighbors not go hungry:
- A family of five in Lancaster County who experienced hunger last winter due to reduced work hours and extraordinary home-heating costs
- A child in uptown Harrisburg who fills his Power Pack backpack every Friday with nutritious food to take home for the weekend so he won’t be hungry while away from school-subsidized meals
- A family of four in Lebanon County who found themselves remarkably without food after a parent was laid off from work
- A senior citizen in a rural community who enjoyed fresh fruit and dairy items she could not afford to buy through a delivery provided by the Elder Share supplemental food program
